The 17th Plansee Seminar on Powder Metallurgical High Performance Materials, which is set to once again include developments in metal injection moulding (MIM), will take place at the headquarters of the Plansee Group in Reutte, Austria from May 25 – 29, 2009.

The organisers invite the international community involved with powder metals and hard materials to participate, with a special invitation being extended to students and young scientists engaged in the field of powder metallurgy.

The 2009 event will address the challenges of further optimizing the overall material efficiency, e.g. by near-net-shape forming and by recycling, and of introducing novel, more energy-efficient processes, in particular for sintering. In this context the Plansee Seminar will once again serve as a global forum to define the current status of the science and technology of powder metals and hard materials. It will also provide a guideline for the direction of the developments that industry should embark on.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is September 28, 2008. For further information email [email protected]
