The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) and co-organisers CETIM and ENISE have issued a call for speakers for their Medical Powder Metallurgy Seminar. The event – provisionally titled Advancing Healthcare through Innovative Powder Metallurgy Solutions – will take place in Saint-Étienne, France, on October 14-15, 2025.

This seminar is intended to provide a comprehensive platform for professionals to discuss advancements, applications, and future trends in PM in medical devices and healthcare solutions.

The event is seeking presentations on the following topics:

  • Case Studies:
    • Implants – Real-world examples of PM applications in orthopaedic and dental implants
    • Tools – Insights into how PM contributes to high-precision medical tools
    • Other – Exploration of further innovative uses of PM in the medical field
  • Equipment to produce medical parts: Overview of Additive Manufacturing (AM), Metal Injection Molding (MIM), Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), and other PM processes for medical applications
  • Medical post-processing: enhancing the functionality and biocompatibility of PM-produced medical parts
  • Medical doctors & applications: perspectives from professionals in orthopaedics, prosthetics, and other medical fields on the impact of PM
  • Normalisation & standards for medical: understanding regulatory and compliance aspects for PM-based medical devices
