Early discounted registration for the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF)’s popular ‘Basic PM Short Course’ closes on July 8, 2019. The three-day course will be held at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pennsylvania, USA, from August 12–14, 2019.

It offers a complete introduction to Powder Metallurgy from powder production to component design and standards. As well as press and sinter PM, processes covered include Metal Injection Moulding and metal Additive Manufacturing.

This year’s programme will focus on:

  • Why PM is a leading method for producing metal parts
  • The many applications that use PM parts
  • The fine points in designing for PM
  • How metal powders are produced
  • Designs for compacting tools
  • How sintering develops functional properties
  • Various secondary operations
  • The Metal Powder Industries Federation standards and tests
  • Metal Injection Moulding
  • The latest high-tech PM technologies, including metal Additive Manufacturing

The intensive three-day course is designed for anyone who is either new to the Powder Metallurgy industry or looking to broaden their knowledge of the technology. The course will not only appeal to engineers, designers and metallurgists but also purchasing agents, managers and office personnel.
