The ECTA has announced that the European Cutting Tools Conference (ECTC) 2025 is scheduled to take place March 20-22 in Turin, Italy. The event, organised by the Italian ECTA member association UCIMU-Sistemi per Produrre, will offer presentations and social programmes, allowing attendees to learn about the sector’s developments whilst networking with colleagues from the broader industry.

ECTC 2025 is aimed at global manufacturers of cutting tools, their importers and distributors, manufacturers of machine tools, the end-user industry and representatives from science and research to promote networking and the exchange of information between all players in the metalworking process.

The conference’s technical programme is as follows:

  • Precision tools industry in Europe – market situation and environment – Stefan Zecha, CEO, Zecha Hartmetall Werkzeughartmetallfabrikation and chairman of VDMA Precision Tools and Manfred Grimm – Market Data and Statistics Specialist, VDMA Precision Tools
  • Update on US Cutting Tool Market – Mike Stokey, Executive Vice President, Allied Machine & Engineering
  • Sustainability aspects in cutting tool development and application – Melissa Albeck, member of the executive board, Ceratizit
  • Growth and economic policy mix in the world after the pandemic and the inflation shock – Emilio Franco, CFA – Chief Executive Officer, Mediobanca SG
  • Geopolitics, economy and technology: a new framework of opportunities and threats is emerging from East and South – Giuliano Noci, Full Professor of Strategy and Marketing, Vice-Rector for China of Politecnico di Milano, former Rector’s Delegate for the Russian Federation and India
  • Exploiting the potential of AI in manufacturing industries – Guido Saracco, Full Professor of Chemical Foundations of Technologies at the Politecnico di Torino
  • The road to performance, from sports to business – Jack Sintini, currently Head of Training Department and Regional Sales Manager, Randstad; volleyball champion

In addition to these talks, the event is also hosting a social programme intended to showcase the Italian region where the conference takes place and foster networking among attendees.
