The Technical Programme for the Euro PM2011 Congress & Exhibition, which takes place at the Centre Convencions International Barcelona, CCIB, Barcelona, from 10-12 October 2011, has now been published. The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA), organisers of the annual event, has confirmed there will be over 250 oral and poster presentations.

As well as the main conference sessions focusing on conventional Structural PM, Metal Injection Moulding, Hard Materials and Diamond tooling, there will also be Special Interest Seminars focussed on “Functional Surfaces in Hard Materials”, “Metal Injection Moulding of Applied Functional Materials” and “PM Biomaterials, Design and Biofunctionality”.

The Euro PM2011’s opening session will include a keynote presentation by Ingo Cremer, President of the EPMA, entitled “Overview of Status and Trends in the European PM Industry”, followed by “Energy Consumption in Powder Metallurgical Manufacturing” by Dr Volker Arnold and Dr Vladislav Kruzhanov, GKN Sinter Metals GmbH.

The technical sessions are combined with an industry-wide exhibition that includes many companies from the PM supply chain, including powder suppliers, equipment manufacturers, component producers and research organisations.

An extensive social programme will give delegates additional opportunities to network, and includes an ‘Exhibition and Poster Reception’ sponsored by ipmd.net, as well as a ‘Gala Dinner’ at the Casa Llotja de Mar in the heart of Barcellona.
