PM Qualifi-cation Award to Stefan Palulat of

Dirak GmbH

DIRAK, based in Ennepetal, Germany, design, manufacture and distribute a range of latching, lock-ing, gasket and hinging systems for industrial enclosures. “The use of powder metal parts in DIRAK’s products is on a high technical level and DIRAK has acquired deep knowledge and expertise in the design and application of PM components,” stated Fachmetall.

This international prize is given to a manufacturer or user of PM products for particular achieve-ments in the field of powder metallurgy. The winner is elected annually by a consortium of inde-pendent experts.

“The award underlines the high qualification and expertise of the prize winner in powder metallur-gical processes, properties and applications of products made by this technology. It is the purpose of this award to stimulate the use of metallographic techniques in the development of new PM applica-tions or the solution of manufacturing problems.”

Fachmetall GmbH in Radevormwald, Germany, was founded in 2008. “Being an independent met-allurgical laboratory with high competence in PM materials, Fachmetall is open-minded and pro-vides expert advice to manufacturers and end users of powder metal components for the solution of quality problems,” stated the company.

Fachmetall also offers training courses related to metallurgical issues, particularly to powder metallurgy and heat treatment.
