Global Tungsten & Powders Corporation (GTP), Towanda, Pennsylvania, USA, has announced that its specialised powder grades, which are specifically developed for thermal spray applications, will be discontinued by the end of 2022.

The company explained that it was no longer viable for it to continue producing thermal spray powders that are based tungsten carbide, molybdenum carbide and chromium carbide.

GTP added that it will continue to focus on the manufacture of tungsten and tungsten carbide powder grades for various industries, and noted that this concentration on its core business is expected to benefit its customers for tungsten, tungsten carbide, and ready-to-press powder grades.

The companies thermal spray powders will remain on sale until February 1, 2022.
