The purpose of the agreement is to recognise the commercialisation of high-performance permanent magnets and to work together to accelerate their commercialisation. The two organisations will cooperate in discovering joint research and development topics through active exchange, focusing on high-performance permanent magnet manufacturing technology.

The two organisations will:

  • cooperate in discovering joint research and development topics through active exchange, focusing on high-performance permanent magnet manufacturing technology
  • exchange technical data and other related information within the scope of the technology license,
  • for the commercialisation of high-characteristic permanent magnets, they jointly discover and promote technology development areas when necessary,
  • plan to mutually use research equipment and R&D infrastructure (offices, laboratories, etc.) when necessary

“Due to environmental factors such as Japan’s export restrictions and competition for hegemony between the US and China, self-sufficiency in permanent magnet materials has become an urgent issue,” Dr Chul-jin Choi, the president of KIMS, said. “We promise to do our best to ensure that this business agreement serves as an opportunity for technology-based mutual cooperation, active exchange, and practical material independence.”
