KRN Alloys improves powder production efficiency with Russell Finex Ultima screening technology
February 11, 2025

KRN Alloys, based in Rajkot, India, has reported improved production times and quality after adopting the Finex Ultima metal powder screening process from Russell Finex, headquartered in Feltham, Middlesex, UK.
With KRN Alloys’ previous screening machine, a significant proportion of the powder was removed as oversized and required regular reprocessing to create the required fractions. This additional activity increased the powder production lead time and reduced the manufacturer’s overall efficiency.
KRN Alloys can now grade the metal powder in up to five particle size fractions in one pass. The screening technology has reduced the need for reprocessing and allowed the manufacturer to meet its customers’ powder specifications more efficiently.
In addition to the improvements in productivity, KRN Alloys has noted its product quality increase because there is less product handling for reprocessing. The metal powder producer has also reportedly benefitted from ongoing training and knowledge transfer delivered by the Russell Finex team.
