London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co Limited (LSM), headquartered in Rotherham, UK, has recently been awarded BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 accreditation, an internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses whose activities have an effect on the environment, such as the handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.

Mr Itamar Resende, Managing Director of LSM, stated “We are very proud to have been awarded this accreditation, by achieving this certification LSM has shown that we are a company who is committed to environmental issues and are prepared to work towards improving the environment.”

LSM produce a wide range of ground metals and alloys as powders for powder metallurgy applications. The atomising of pure aluminium and aluminium alloys is carried out at the Alpoco facilities in Anglesey and Minworth, UK. Gas atomization with air or inert gases is used to produce different particle size distributions and powder morphology. LSM Group production facilities outside the UK are located in Brazil, China and Poland.
