The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) states that it expects an increase in student attendance at POWDERMET2019 and AMPM2019, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, June 23-26, 2019, due to the expansion of a number of grant programmes designed to enable students to attend the event free of charge.

For the third year, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is providing forty grants to selected students attending US colleges and universities. Due to the overwhelming number of applications to the NSF Student Grant Programme, the MPIF has also developed its own Student Grant Programme for the first time, which has awarded an additional thirty-one grants to selected students.

Students attending the conference will have full access to the POWDERMET2019 and AMPM2019 technical sessions, the exhibit, luncheons, and evening events, to provide time to network with industry professionals. They can also expect to have a technical poster on display at the conference and present a ten-minute synopsis during a Grant TNT: Talk ‘N Technology session.

Four conference grants have also been awarded to selected students by the CPMT/Axel Madsen Grant Programme. A full list of the students who have been awarded conference grants can be seen on the MPIF website.
