MTC Powder Solutions invests in new heat treatment furnace at Swedish PM HIP facility

MTC Powder Solutions (MTC PS), Surahammar, Sweden, has announced further investment at its new state-of-the-art Powder Metallurgy Hot Isostatic Pressing (PM HIP) facility, currently being built in Sweden. The investment consists of a brand new and modern heat treatment furnace including a rapid quench system.
The heat treatment furnace will be placed alongside the HIP units, establishing the factory as the first of its kind. “Imagine to be able to just lift out the components from the HIP unit and place them straight into the heat treatment furnace, the leadtimes will be significantly reduced making NNS HIP one of the quickest production methods for critical steel components!” stated Daniel Lindgren, Production Manager MTC PS.
With its automated control system and modern quenching system, the setup will enhance the material properties of sensitive alloys, enabling the company to meet more demanding material requirements.
The installation of the heat treatment furnace is already underway and is forecasted to be operational during the new factory’s opening.
