Plansee Korea celebrates 20th anniversary

Plansee Korea, a division of Austria’s Plansee Group, has marked its 20th anniversary with a celebration at its Dongtan office attended by representatives from Korea and Austria. Since its foundation, the site in Hwaseong-si has become a driving force within Plansee’s global network and its centre of expertise for the display, semiconductor and electronics industries.
Since 2005, Plansee Korea has focussed on mechanical processing and the bonding of components for the electronics and semiconductor industries. At its machining centre for refractory metals, Plansee Korea produces spare parts for ion implanter systems as well as sputtering targets for display production.
The sputtering targets are soldered onto supporting materials for use in PVD coating systems. Plansee Korea focuses on this particular work step, where it bonds, machines, and packages ready-to-use sputtering targets for its customers and target manufacturers in Asia. The company’s particular specialty is the indium bonding of rotary targets and planar targets.
