Workshop focuses on HIP processing of materials for aggressive environments

A one day workshop entitled “HIP Processing of Materials for Aggressive Environments” will take place on 16 November 2011 at the Riverside Centre in Derby, UK. The course is organised by IOM Communications on behalf of the Particulate Engineering and High Temperature Materials Committees of Materials Science and Technology Division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, with support from the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA).
Performance engineering industries face the challenges of ensuring product capability and reliability under a range of extreme environments. These can range from high temperatures & pressures in turbines through automotive conditions to sea-bed oil & gas applications and many others, all involving combinations of temperature, pressure, friction, wear, corrosion, stress and impact conditions.
The course will showcase the proven ability of the rapidly developing Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) sector to provide solutions for products operating in such conditions. It will bring together a range of world leading experts from industry and academia who will take part in a series of presentations followed by question and answer sessions.
